"YOU HAVE CROSSED THE WRONG WARRIOR!!" glasses smashed as people dived out of the way, avoiding the flying Denobulan who went careening across the bar, destroying several full bottles of expensive looking alcohol. The giant Klingon looked down on the man as he pulled himself to his feet, baring his teeth and snarling.

"Eh, look- I'm, haha, sure we can work something out. I didn't realize the convoy would be attacked."

"Excuse me," came a soft accent from behind the man, "I think you'd better leave the bartender alone."

The Klingon spun round angrily, throwing a massive arm out but connecting with nothing. A tall man in a starfleet uniform popped up from a crouching position and caught the massive warrior with an upper-cut to the jaw, sending him reeling backwards, collapsing over the Dabo table. A unit of Security staff dashed into the bar and held the Klingon down, picking him up and carrying him off to the brig. The Denobulan came round the bar, dusting himself off as the music picked back up and people went back to their normal activities.

"Thank you, Jaeih."

"You are very welcome, Pontir." Jaeih replied.

The Andorian woman watches from the door Flanagan's, her metallic eyes surveying the scene in front of her. Watching the Starfleet officer brush himself off, the girl had a new found respect for him. Taking on Klingons, eh? He's got balls, I'll give him that. Maybe next time I'll offer a hand. Smirking to herself, she straightened her uniform, the dark green and black in stark contrast to her pale skin.

Making her way across the bar, she watched the officer converse with the barkeep. "I see you're staying out of trouble as usual, Pontir."

"He attacked me." The bartender protested.

"I'm sure you didn't deserve it at all," she said with a wink. Turning to the officer "Nice job handling the Klingon, Commander, though the scent of blood wine was strong on his breath. He couldn't have been that bad of a target."

"Thank you, I guess. I picked up a few things during my career. And you are?"

"I'm Tarias, the new marine CO for the Shiloh. And I assure you, I've picked up a few things during my career too, Commander. It is comforting to know that I'll be working with an officer who can handle himself. Most of the Starfleet officers I've worked with have been too soft." She looks back towards the bar. "Pontir, give me a couple of Andorian ales. Let's see how well the Commander handles himself in other situations." With a big grin on her face, Tarias led Jaeih to the bar.

"Andorian ales, eh?" he said with the confidence of a puppy in meat-grinder, taking the beverage and demolishing it in two gulps, "Oh, and Captain; never underestimate a drunk Klingon." He winked at her, as she finished the drink.

Tarias downs her drink in one gulp. "I make it my business to not underestimate anyone. That's why I'm still alive. Put these on his tab, Pontir."

The Denobulan gave her a puzzled look. "Tab, what tab would that be?"

"The one you just created. The Commander did just save you from the Klingon. Just keep in mind that he may not save you from me."

"Oh right, that tab. I forgot all about that one."

They walked through the narrow, snaking corridors of the station making idle chit-chat and speculating about the nature of the Captain's new ship.

"So Commander, what kind of ship is the Shiloh?" the Aenar woman asked.

"She's a Hastings class carrier. A real giant, she is too. You'll never have seen anything quite like her. We have five air wings and a marine detachment, obviously." He said, realising that was the whole reason she was there. "Standard crew compliment, nine hundred and twenty-two."

"She sounds like an impressive ship. She's no doubt part of Starfleet's peacekeeping initiative. Of course, if it wasn't for all of the Federation's enemies, I wouldn't have much of a job, would I?"

"Exactly," he replied, "You'll be fighting off the evil enemies of the Federation before you have time to put your kitbag down."

"Sounds like fun," she answered with a smile. "Have you been aboard yet?"

"I joined the crew in the middle of the shakedown cruise as the ship's counselor but unfortunately the ex-oh was... incapacitated." He frowned a little. "I'd say a few weeks now."

"I see. I'm only familiar with a few of the specs. This will be my first time on board. I hear she's far more impressive the old Excelsior-class I used to serve on."

"It's certainly newer, Captain." Jaeih said as the two officers stepped into the turbolift. "Docking pylon 3; USS Shiloh."

"Well, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing her. I just hope my armory is stocked as I requested. I have high standards when it comes to equipping my troops."

"As far as I know the armoury was being stocked this morning. I'll check with Ops when we get down there." Jaeih replied with a smile.

"Excellent. I run a tight ship, so to speak. Is there anything I should know about your Commander before I start trying to run my unit my way?"

"Not as such. I believe he'll leave the marines to do things the marine way. Obviously, we don't have a lot of experience dealing with you battle-hungry lot." Jaeih said, fixing his new red collar.

"I wouldn't exactly say we're battle-hungry," Tarias answered, not sure if she should be insulted or not. "We prefer to take care of our engagements quickly and efficiently. My marines are commandos; we're not really meant for prolonged operation, though we are quite capable of it."

"Well that's good to hear. I don't like the thought of officers being left anywhere." Jaeih grinned wryly at the marine, "Don't want you lot getting left behind and going feral; now do we?"

"If my lot go feral, you won't want us back," Tarias replied with a grin.

"Very good point, Captain." He replied with a chuckle. The lift came to a steady halt at the docking pylon and the two stepped out in front of a viewing port. The Shiloh sat serenely being serviced by a few worker-bees. The XO could see a few faces bob past viewing ports but most of the crew was off-ship.

"There she is, Captain. What d'you think?"

"She's quite a ship. She's certainly the most impressive assault ship I've ever seen. It will be an honor to serve aboard her. I hear you've already seen some action."

"Something of the sort, indeed." He replied. "A Starfleet captain with an unhealthy passion for ambushing Romulans. The things that first assignments are made of."

"Sounds like fun. I don't suppose we would have been much use in that case, unless you needed us to board the ship. That I can I do."

Jaeih chuckled. "As it went we managed to gain access to the ship's systems and power it down otherwise it would have been a boarding situation."

"That's good then. I'd hate to think I missed all the fun."

"Oh, not at all." Jaeih replied, opening a hand towards the airlock. "I must take my leave of you now, I'm afraid. I have to nip up to Captain Lange's office for a meeting. It's been a pleasure to make your acquiantance though, Tarias."

"The pleasure was mine, Jaeih. Be sure to call me if you run into any more problems with drunken klingons," Tarias said with an added wink. "I'll see you on board."

"I certainly will, Captain."
